To reduce the distance of National Bal Bhavan from children a special initiative was begun in 1979 – it was to open Bal Bhavan Kendras in J.J. clusters for destitute children and also in the MCD schools of residential areas to make the activities of Bal Bhavan more accessible to children all over Delhi. Bal Bhavan Kendras are a vital link strengthening the bond between children and the National Bal Bhavan. At present, 53 Bal Bhavan Kendras are being run in different parts of Delhi.
